Pandavapura (Mandya dist), Oct 11: Even before the ripples of the gang rape of a call centre employee in Bengaluru died down, a college girl was reportedly subjected to the same brutality by her lover and his three friends at Bebibetta, in the Pandavapura taluk of the?Mandya district on October 9.

The accused have been identified as K R Mill Colony-resident Keerthi Gowda (23), his friends Kiran Gowda (23), and Mohan (26) — both hailing from the Melapura village in the Srirangapatna taluk — and Davadahalli village-resident Manjunath (21).
They have been booked under relevant sections of the law.
The victim, a student at a degree college in Mysuru who lives with her mother at a locality on the border of the Mysuru and?Mandya districts, lost her father a few years ago.
In her statement to police, she said Keerthi was introduced to her by Kiran via the latter’s cellphone. After a few days, Keerthi reportedly proposed to the girl, who accepted it.
On October 9, Keerthi decided to take the unsuspecting girl on a ride to KRS. The duo spent sometime at KRS, before moving to Bebibetta. Keerthi, meanwhile, had called his friends over the phone.
Keerthi allegedly outraged the girl's modesty, and Kiran and?Mohan followed, while Manjunath kept vigil.
Upon reaching home, the girl narrated the ordeal to her mother. The next day, they lodged a complaint at the Pandavapura police station.
Mandya SP?Bhushan Borase told Deccan Herald: “The medical examination of the accused is underway. They will be remanded in judicial custody by (Sunday) night. The victim was sent home after completion of the medical formalities.”
