
Mangaluru, Aug 5: The government of Karnataka on Wednesday posted H.N. Gopalakrishna, a Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer, as the Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC).
The post of commissioner was vacant for more than one-and-a-half month after the government transferred Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, on June 12, 2015.
Mr. Gopalakrishna was earlier the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Hassan.
The post was vacant for nearly six months from mid-July 2014 to December 2014. Mr. Korlapati served as the Commissioner for about five-and-a-half months.
Another official in the corporation, K. Raju Mogaveera, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue), has been transferred as District Officer, Department of Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, Dakshina Kannada. With this, among the three posts of Deputy Commissioners in the corporation, one post has fallen vacant.
The government has posted P. Jayamadhava, Special Land Acquisition Officer, Ramanagaram, as the zonal commissioner of the corporation. With this, all the three posts of zonal commissioners in the civic body have been filled.
The government has posted B. Sadashiva Prabhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kananda, as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Udupi and posted Additional Deputy Commissioner of Udupi Kumar as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada.
