The victim is Kevin R, who was a flower decorator from Jogupalya area. He was crossing the road when an allegedly speeding Teja ploughed into him. A police officer said Kevin was going to his grandmother’s house along with friend Shibu when the accident occurred.
The BMW hit Kevin near the first ramp of Domlur flyover; the impact was so severe that the car’s front and the number plate got broken
In the impact of the crash, Kevin was tossed up in the air, crashed on the car’s bonnet and was dragged for a few metres before he died.

Dr Teja told police that he made several attempts to save the boy. “When I got down to check on him, the boy was breathing. I did not flee from the spot… I tried to save him. I put him in my car and drove to the hospital. He succumbed later,” he told the cops.
Kevin’s body was shifted to Bowring Hospital for autopsy.
Police subjected Dr Teja to medical tests and the alcohol content in his blood was at 113% per 100ml of blood. He was arrested under IPC Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and produced before the magistrate, who remanded him in 14 days’ judicial custody.
