Ravi Vas (30), a resident of Neermarga and Sharath (23), from Sullia are the two youths who reunited with their family members thanks to the efforts of Dakshina Kannada administration and Tulunada Rakshana Vedike.

Addressing media persons they said they were approached by two visa agents, who promised them attractive jobs as drivers in Saudi Arabia.

“We paid the agents Rs 1 lakh each to obtain visas, and left for Saudi Arabia. The agents told us that we would be paid Rs 25,000 per month, in addition to being provided free accommodation and food,” they recalled.

"However, we were not given salary for three months after joining for work. Company started paying us when our colleagues raised voice against us and started protesting against not paying salary,” they said.

Unfortunately, joy did not last long and company confiscated their passports and other documents.

They said that they got their documents back after their visa agents were pressured by Tulunada Rakshana Vedike.
