Mangalore, Jun 13: Nitish K from Udupi district is one of the 1,122 candidates who attempted and successfully cleared the prestigious Civil Services Examination 2014 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, with 547th rank in the country.

He is one of the 45 candidates in the state to have successfully cleared the examination this year. He had chosen Mathematics as his subject in the exam.
However, Nitish wants to attempt the examination again to secure a higher rank in order to attain his aspiration to become an IAS officer.
Nitish is the son of K Ramakrishna Hebbar, who is a bank manager at Karnataka Bank Saligrama branch, and Bharati G.
Having completed his engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from PES Institute of Technology (PESIT) in Bangalore, Nitish has been preparing for the UPSC Examination since the last three years. He had attempted the examination once prior to this attempt and had secured a rank with which he could get into an IRS post in the Customs or Income Tax department.
Hoping to get a rank within 200, Nitish wishes to attempt the UPSC exam yet another time. He said that he had allotted a total of 10 hours a day for reading and watching news on television channels. He would also read a minimum of two newspapers each day along with magazines for competitive exams.
