Manjeshwar, Jul 13: Veteran social worker Abdul Hameed Ali, who was known for his selfless service during emergency situations and mishaps in Mangaluru-Kasaragod region, is no more.

An ambulance driver by profession, this Good Samaritan had been rushing to spot of any kind of accidents and tragedies on national highway and other parts in the region.
He had suffered a heart attack during shifting an accident victim from Udyavar to hospital in his ambulance in April this year and had undergone a crucial surgery.
Following this, Khidvathul Islam Association, a local organization had donated him an ambulance to continue his service.
A resident of Kunjathur Padavu, near here, Ammiccha is survived by his wife, three daughters, three sons, five brothers, five sisters and a large number of relatives, friends, well-wishers and fans.
Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader, Manjeshwar Journalists Union president Anees Uppala and others have expressed their condolence.
Ammiccha’s selfless service during Mangaluru’s worst ever aviation disaster in May 2010 was appreciated by many. At the crash site on the day of crash and at the mortuary of Government Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru for next two days he was restless in his efforts shifting the charred dead bodies. In two days he had shifted over 60 charred bodies.
