Bagali is accused of helping former minister B Sriramulu to acquire 259.95 acres in survey number 597-B and another 57.30 acres in survey number 601-A in a Ballari village.

He reportedly created fake records only to help Sriramulu in grabbing the land. A complaint was filed with the Lokayukta in 2013. Bagali is the accused number 3 in the case.

The Additional Director General of Police (Lokayukta) had submitted a report on June 29, 2013 that preliminary enquiry had proved the allegations against Bagali. Based on the report, the Lokayukta had written to the state government seeking sanction for Bagali’s prosecution.
