Mangalore, Feb 15: A two-day workshop for Arabic teachers was inaugurated in the city on Saturday, with the intention of forming a better society by moulding ideal Muslim teachers.
The workshop was organised by Hidayah-Mesco Arabic Academy, which is a unit of Hidayah Foundation, Mangalore.
Chairman of Unity Health Complex Dr C P Habeeb Rahman inaugurated the workshop.
In his introductory remarks, chairman of Hidayah Foundation explained the aim and objectives of the organisation in undertaking several programmes for charitable purposes. With empowerment of women and development of children in the Muslim community as its main objective, the organisation seeks to break the cycle of poverty through education and awareness, he said.
Dr Mir Wajahath Ali and Dr Muhammed Ifthikaruddin from Mesco Arabic Language and English Education Foundation, Hyderabad were present during the inauguration.
About 70 teachers in Arabic language from the district participated in the workshop.
