I am still alive; suicide attempt rumours are baseless: News anchor Radha

Bengaluru, May 10: Kannada news anchor Radha Hiregoudar, who used to appear regularly on Public TV, became the latest victim of suicide hoax on social media after she disappeared from the prime time bulletins for a few days.

On Tuesday rumours started doing rounds that the senior anchor was battling for life in a private hospital in Bengaluru after she attempted a suicide following a spat with Public TV captain H R Ranganath.

However, Hiregoudar, who is currently holidaying, took to social media to refute the mischievous rumours and said that she was psychologically strong enough to face the challenges and difficulties in her life.

“I don’t know where these baseless rumours are coming from. Don’t pay heed to such false rumours. I have faced lot of difficulties in life. God has given me enough strength to face such difficulties in future too,” she said.

It is learnt that Hiregoudar was hospitalised due to low blood pressure last week. “Now I am taking rest at home and will soon return to work. So stop spreading rumours,” she said.
