ICSE Class 10, ISC Class 12 results out: southern region shines

New Delhi, May 29: The results of the ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII examinations for 2017 were announced on Monday and the southern region has fared best in the country.

A total of 1,75,299 candidates appeared for the ICSE examinations and 98.53% passed out. Of the 73,633 students who took the ISC examinations, 96.47% passed.

The ICSE and ISC schools abroad recorded 100% pass.

In the ICSE results, Muskaan Abdula Pathan from Pune and Ashwin Rao from Bangalore secured 99.4% and were the joint toppers.

The ISC topper was Ananya Maity from Heritage School, Kolkata, who secured 99.5%.

The pass percentage for the ISCE and ISC went up by 0.3 % and 0.1 % respectively.

The results can be viewed online on the website of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations at www.cisce.org. After logging in to the website, the candidate should click ‘Results 2017’ and select the relevant examination.

Schools can access the results via the ‘Careers’ portal of the Council using the Principal’s login ID and password.

Students can also access their results via SMS, by sending a text message to 09248082883. The message body of the text should mention the relevant exam followed by the candidate’s seven-digit Unique ID. For example – ICSE 1234567.

The Council has also made a provision for candidates to apply for rechecking of marks through the same website. The online module for submitting a request for rechecking the results will remain open for only seven days from the date of declaration of the results (from May 29 to June 4).

ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) Examination, 2017, showed a marginal increase in pass percentages over the previous year's results, said Gerry Arathoon, CEO of the Council.

Mangaluru: The Mangaluru CEN police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly posting provocative and misleading content on an Instagram page named “mr_a_titude”, targeting the Bajpe police.

Mangaluru Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H identified the arrested as Abhishek M, a resident of Katipalla in Mangaluru.

A case has been registered at the Bajpe Police Station under Sections 353(1)(c), 353(2), 56, and 57 read with Section 189 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in connection with the post.

According to police, the accused uploaded a photograph of a hotel on the Instagram page and alleged that accused persons in a murder case under the Bajpe police jurisdiction were being given “royal treatment” by the police, including being served beef meals daily from the hotel.

The post further accused the police of supporting criminals, misusing their authority, and betraying public trust. Police said the content was provocative in nature and aimed at inciting public outrage against the police.

Following the post, a case was registered at the Bajpe police station, and further investigation was transferred to the CEN police station.

Police records indicate that the accused has a criminal history, with multiple cases registered against him, including murder, attempt to murder, assault, and robbery at the Surathkal Police Station, and one case at the Kaup Police Station.

The Commissioner said the accused was traced and arrested using technical evidence.
