Bengaluru, Dec 27: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), appointed by the Karnataka Lok Ayukta to investigate into alleged illegal iron ore mining in the State, has filed a fresh FIR against former Karnataka Minister and Mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy, M/S Devi Enterprises Partner K M Ali Khan and M/S Sri Minerals Partner B V Srinivasa Reddy.

In the FIR they were charged of indulging in illegal iron ore mining and transporting 1,69,263 metric tons of iron ore without valid license and thus causing
Rs 23,89,648 loss to the State Exchequer.
FIR was filed with CCH 82nd Court under various sections of Karnataka Forest Rules 1969 and IPC, Karnataka Lokayukta SIT IGP M Chandrasekhar said in a release here on Thursday.
After Lok Ayukta headed by the then Justice N Santosh Hegde reported about illegal iron ore mining the SIT was formed to investigate into illegal iron ore mining and transportation of iron ore mined without valid permit by Janardhana Reddy, K M Alikhan and others who tookover N Shek Sab Mines through Instrument of Partnership and Power of Attorney and indulged in illegal iron ore mining and selling them.
The Karnataka Mines and Geology Department officials had seized the iron ore.
