Mangaluru, May 29: Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, Superintendent of Police of Dakshina kannada district, has warned the social media rumour-mongers of stringent action in the wake of communal tensions in Kalladka town of Bantwal taluk.

Those creating tension by spreading false information on WhatsApp and Facebook in connection with the untoward incidents that took place on May 26 in Kalladka, will face action, he stated.
Mr Borase said the police were taking the help of both communities to trace the persons involved in the incident.
The SP said that some persons were trying to disturb peace by spreading false information about the investigation.
Asking the public not to believe false messages sent on WhatsApp and Facebook, Mr. Borase asked people to contact either him (on 94808 05301) or the Bantwal police station (08255235000) for clarification.
