Karnataka PUC results out: DK tops the list, Udupi second

Mangalore, May 8: The pass percentage in the second year Pre-University Examinations in Karnataka this year has grown up by 1.11 per cent with 60.47 percent of the students emerging with success.

Announcing the results at a press conference in Bangalore on Monday, Kimmane Rathnakar Rao, Higher Education Minister, said that coastal district of Dakshina Kananda, which had secured second place last year, has recorded highest pass percentage of 86.04.

Udupi district district, which had secured first place last year, has bagged second place with a pass percentage of 85.57.

Kodagu district with a pass percentage of 75.87 bagged third place. Bidar district has been placed at the end of the ranking list with miserable pass percentage of 44.95.

Girls, as usual, have fared better when compared to boys, with 60.08 per cent of them passing out as against …. per cent of the boys, he revealed.

Out of around 6,13,703 students, who had taken the Second PUC Examinations this year, 3, 71, 116 students have emerged successful.

A total of 42 colleges in the state have registered 100 pass percentage while 45 colleges reordered Zero pass percentage.

As many as 34,341 students passed with Distinction, 1,83, 788 got first class marks, 69,914 secured second class while 39,768 students scored third class.

Minister said Science stream has a pass percentage of 62.19, arts 51.25 and commerce stream recoded a pass percentage of 70.08.
