Black spot
Two days ahead of the inaugural ceremony, a group of youngsters, who had been engaged in decorating the streets near the Masjid, had brutally assaulted a newspaper agent. The president and Khatheeb of the Masjid neither condemned the attack nor visited the injured so far.
Family members of the injured newspaper agent Abdul Salam have accused the Masjid administration of supporting the miscreants and pressurizing police not to take action against the accused.
“Even though police had taken two of the miscreants in to custody on Thursday night, they were immediately released. The assailants are still wandering freely and they actively took part in the inaugural ceremony of the new renovated Masjid building”, said a family member.
