Kundapur, Jan 13: The coastal village of Kodi in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district, which had witnessed communal clashes on Sunday, has bounced back to normalcy. The situation is under control and village is completely peaceful, said police.

According to K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police of Udupi, a dispute between two persons belonging to two communities turned into a group clash. The police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control in the night.
Two each from two communities were injured and were admitted to a government hospital and a private hospital in Kundapur. They have been identified as Bharat, Ranjith, Ashida Ahmed and Abdul Munaf.
Two units of District Armed Reserve Police were pressed into service. œThe situation is peaceful there and we are keeping a vigil in the area, Mr. Annamalai said.
