Bengaluru, Jan 4: Challenging the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to share the burden of farm loan waiver scheme, initiated by the JD(S)-Congress coalition government in Karnataka, the KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao alleged that “BJP government at the Center is acting against the interests of the Farmers in the country”.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said that “by describing Karnataka Government’s Rs 42000 crore loan waiver scheme as doling out 'lolly pop' the Prime Minister had insulted the entire farming community in the State”.

Stating that the Congress-JD(S) Coalition government is very much committed to implement the Loan waiver scheme, he said that “already the process of fulfilling the promise has been taken up and in one month more than one lakh farmers would be distributed debt-free certificate”.
