
Sullia, Aug 21: An incident of ragging reportedly took place in KVG Polytechnic College, Sullia, in connection to which the cops have arrested ten senior students.
Prithvin, a first year Computer Science student, hailing from Mysore was ragged by seniors Sachin, Karthik, Kaushik, Bhavan, Ganesh and others.
The group which resorted to ragging Prithvin got violent and physically assaulted him.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night and Prithvin has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
The victim has been assaulted in such a horrific manner that he has lost several teeth.
Prithvin's parents who learnt about the incident have rushed to Sullia.
It is said that Prithvin had told his parents that he had injured himself after slipping in the hostel, but when he could not put up with the pain, he had again called up the parents and revealed the entire episode of ragging.
The seniors had woke him up and taken him out of the room for ragging.
After the assault they had threatened him of dire consequences if he informed the police or even leaked the news to anyone.
Prithvin's mother has said that they are now being pressurized to withdraw the case.
