Udupi, Jul 30: The Karnataka government has announced cash reward for the Kannadiga players of Indian women’s cricket team that finished runners-up in the recent ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup-2017 held in England.
Congratulating the team, Minister for Sports and Youth Empowerment Pramod Madhwaraj announced a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh each for Rajeshwari Gayakwad from Vijayapura and Veda Krishnamurthy from Kadur, Chikkamagaluru.
A press release by the minister said the team had shown the best-ever performance and reached the final, overcoming all odds.
