Mangaluru, Jul 20: A Class 8 girl of Capitanio High School went missing under suspicious circumstances after she left home saying that she would be going for tuition at Nagori near Pumpwell, in the city on Monday.

Preliminary probe revealed that Chaitra (13), daughter of Rangappa Kambara and Mallava, boarded a city bus after offering pooja at a temple in Garodi.
It is learnt that as per routine, on Monday the girl had attended classes and returned home in the evening. But after a few minutes she left home saying she would be attending tuition classes.
The missing case came to light, after a school bag was found lying unattended at a passage near the temple. A curious woman, who noticed the bag, handed it over to the temple.
When the people in the temple opened the bag, they found the Chaitra’s identity card which contained the address of her parents. The bag also contained the girl’s uniform. Soon they informed the girl’s parents about the discovery of the unattended bag.
After a search in the temple surroundings, the police were informed about the missing case and when they checked CCTV footage at the temple, they came to know that she had visited the temple and then boarded route number 9 bus at Garodi.
Mangaluru Rurual police are investigating the matter and formed a team to trace the girl. When the said bus was stopped, the girl was not found and none of the passenger was aware about the girl.
