Mangaluru, Nov 17: Seeliya Simmith, a student from Mangaluru hogged the limelight in the 30th State Speed Roller Skating Championships 2014-15 held at Rao's Roller Skating Club, Bannimantap, Mysuru by bagging by bagging two Gold and a Silver medals in the girls section.

Over 600 skating aces and title-holders had participated in the state-level championship, in which Seeliya Simmith was representing Dakshina Kannada district.
She bagged the gold prizes in 300-metre rink race and 5,000-metre road race, while she bagged the silver in 500-metre rink race.
With this, Seeliya Simmith had gained eligibility to participate in the national-level Speed Roller Skating championship. The 52nd National Speed Roller Skating championship is scheduled to be held in Virar, Mumbai from January 21 to 25.
Seeliya Simmith, resident of Pandeshwar, is a Class 12 student of Lourdes Central School in Bejai. She is the daughter of P A Mohammed Katipalla and Asma Mohammed. She is receiving training for the national championship from coach Shrikanth Rao from Mysore.
