
For nearly three decades he served as a teacher in various schools of Udupi including Kidiyoor government school and Udupi North Higher Primary School.
Affectionately called Jafar Master by his thousands of students and friends, he had also served in various social and community organizations.
An advocate of social justice, Jafar Master had keen interest in the upliftment of Dalits and had freely taught Dalit students in Bannanje Hostel for two years.
He was a life-time member of Udupi district Muslim Welfare Association. He was the president of Udupi-Ajjarakad Friends Club. He was the general secretary of Udupi-Nayarkere Hashimi Masjid. He also served as the general secretary of Secretary of Udupi district unit of Jamiyyatul Falah.
Jafar Master is survived by his six sons including Iqbal Manna of Qatar, two daughters and a large number of relatives and friends.
