Melisa M Goveas awarded PhD by Mangalore University

Mangalore, Aug 18: Melisa M Goveas, a city based English lecturer has been awarded a PhD in literature by Mangalore University. The doctorate was awarded for her thesis: Who Murdered the Detective? Subversion and Erasure in Postmodern Crime Fiction: A Study.

Dr Goveas is currently working as assistant professor at the post graduation department of English in St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore. She also holds an M. Phil. and cleared National Eligibility Test conducted by University Grants Commission twice.

Even though Dr Goveas hails from Kerala, she started her teaching career at SAC, Mangalore, and is known among her hundreds of students for her proficiency in literature and literary criticism.

Dr Ravishankar Rao, an acclaimed scholar, thinker and chairman of department of English at Mangalore University, is her guide. Dr A Lurdusamy, Dean of PG Studies, SAC, Mangalore, has congratulated Dr Goveas on being conferred doctoral degree.
