Puttur, Mar 25: A married woman from Badagannur village in Puttur taluk who had mysteriously gone missing on Friday leaving behind her family, was found with a youth belonging to a different religion in Bengaluru on Monday evening.

Tahira, wife of Aboobaker from Perigeri in Badagannur village in Puttur taluk, had reportedly gone missing on Friday morning after she had gone out to buy medicines. Thereafter, a missing complaint had been lodged at Sampya police station.
Based on accurate information of Tahira's whereabouts through her mobile and SMS records, Sampya police along with her relatives traveled to Bengaluru on Monday and found her in the company of a man named Ranjith in Hulimavi. She was brought back to Puttur on Monday night.
When police enquired about her actions, she reportedly said that she did not want to stay at her parental house or her husband's house either, as her husband harassed her regularly. The police said that Tahira had given a statement stating that she had intended to commit suicide over her personal problems and Ranjith had given her courage to refrain from doing so. She had also stated that she had gone to Bengaluru willingly with Ranjith and wished to stay there.
The police have handed over her custody to a counselling centre in Mangaluru in view of her unwillingness to return to her parental house or husband's house. It has come to light that the woman and Ranjith had apparently befriended each other on social networking site Facebook and had left the house as a result of this.
