Mangalore, Jan 18: K Mohammed Haris, Director, Mukka Sea Food Industries Private Limited, Mangalore received the award for Outstanding Performance in Exports of Marine Products for the year 2011 -12 at the hands of Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Govt. Of India at a glittering function held at Chennai on the occasion of the 19th Biennial India International Sea Food Show.
The show was held at the Chennai Trade Centre under the auspices of the Marine Products Export Development Authority. India International Seafood Show (IISS) is one of the largest Seafood Fairs in Asia. It affords a common forum for Seafood processors, Exporters, Importers, Aqua culturists, Processing Machinery manufacturers and allied industries to meet under one roof.
Mr. Avertano Furtado, Minister of Labour & Employment, Fisheries and Rural Development, Goa; Mr. K A Jayapal, Tamilnadu Fisheries Minister, Ms. Leena Nair, I.A.S., Chairperson, the Marine Products Exports Development Authority and Mr. A J Tharakan, President, Sea Food Exporters Association of India addressed the distinguished gathering.
