Bengaluru, Jun 16: Millions of Muslims across Karnataka celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with religious fervour and solemnity on Saturday which marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan, during which the faithfuls observe fasting from dawn to dusk.
Clad in festive finery white kurta-pyjama and white skull cap, Muslims offered mass prayers at Eidgah Maidans and the masjids across the state.
Though Muslims in coastal districts of Karnataka and adjacent areas had observed Eid on Friday, Muslims in other districts including Bengaluru and Mysuru celebrated the festival today.
In Chikkamagaluru, MLC Bhojegowda and SP Annamalai visited Eidgah Maidan and extended Eid greetings to the Muslim brethren.
In Hubballi, thousands of Muslims took part in special prayers as part of Eid-ul-Fitr at Eidgah Maidan. After the special namaz, they greeted each other with traditional hugs.
