Jet Airways flight safe after bird-hit in Mangalore airport

Mangalore, July 21: In what could have been a possible catastrophe, all the passengers of the Jet Airways flight from Mumbai disembarked safely, after it was hit by a peacock on the run way of Bajpe airport on Wednesday, July 21.

The incident occurred at around 2: 45 pm, while the fortunate plane was moving on the run way after landing.

MR Vasudeva Rao, Director of the Airport clarified that it was not a serious matter as the plane suffered a bird-hit only after a safe landing.

He said that the flight took off for Mumbai at around 6: 45 pm. after engineers inspected the aircraft and found it airworthy.

"Engineers inspected the plane and when everything was found normal, it was given permission to continue its journey," Vasudeva said.
