Uppinangady, Sept 2: A 25-year-old youth died after he fell from a giant tree while cutting its branch at Golithottu village near Nellyadi in Dakshina Kannada district today.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ismaeel (25), son of Abbas, a resident of Kolpe Darkhas in Konalu village.
According to sources, Ismaeel was cutting a branch of a mango tree when he slipped and fell accidentally.
He sustained critical injuries. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. However, he breathed his last without responding to any treatment.
A case has been registered at jurisdictional Uppinangady police station.
