Udupi, January 18: A warm civic reception was accorded to the outgoing Paryaya seer – Lakshmivara Tirtha of Shiroor Mutt here on Tuesday.
After felicitating the seer, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda lauded the swamiji for his achievements during his third Paryaya.
He said that State Government had allocated Rs. 5 crore for the development of surroundings of the Krishna Mutt.
The Paryaya system of Ashta Mutts was unique and had been going without a break for last 800 years, he added.
