Eight ft python caught from temple premises in Pavanje

Mangalore, May 18: A python along with its eggs were captured from Subramanya Swamy Temple in Pavanje near here and handed over to Pilikula Nisarga Dhama.

Speaking to Coastaldigest.com, Ganesh Bolar, snake catcher, said that the reptile measured 8 feet in length. 13 eggs were also taken into custody and handed over to Pilikula authorities, Mr. Bolar said.

The eggs might have been laid about two weeks ago. It takes 60 days for them to hatch, Mr. Bolar said.

The snake along with its young ones will be placed back in one of the local forests, he added.

Mr. Bolar has been catching snakes for the past 33 years. He has caught more than 1,000 snakes over the years. He can be contacted at 9880337425.
