Illegal cattle transportation: Police nab 5; seize 17 buffalos

Mulky, August 6: The Mulky town police have arrested five persons for allegedly engaging in illegal transportation of cattle on Sunday.

The arrested have been identified as Ramesh, Rafiq, Joy, ALex, and Antony – all residents of nearby state of Kerala.

Acting on tip off, the police inspected a vehicle at police check post near Bappanadu temple, here at around 4:00 a.m. and found 17 buffalos in it. They seized all the buffalos and arrested five persons on bard the vehicle.

It is learnt that the buffalo were being transported for a slaughter house in Kerala.

The raid was led by Mulky police inspector Bashir Ahmed. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
