Mangalore, November 15: In an impressive performance Prasad Shetty of Mangalore has won the gold medal and the title of 'Strongman of Karnataka 2012' at the state level competition conducted by Indian Powerlifting Federation at Kundapur recently.
Mr Shetty contested in the 59 Kg class and his total weight lifted during the competition was 525 kgs.
It may be recalled that Mr Shetty had won one gold and two bronze medals at the Asian International Power Lifting Championship held at Kobe city in Japan in December last year.
A resident of Kodialguthu, Prasad Shetty, is the son of K. Chandrahas Shetty, a city businessman and his wife is Shashi Shetty.
