Vasudeva Adiga laid to rest

Udupi, Jan 14: RTI activist Vandaru Vasudeva Adiga from Shankaranarayana in Udupi district, whose body was found in a tank at Kadurtaluk on Saturday, was consigned to flames at Shiroor-Moorkai on Sunday.

A large number of people, including Muzrai minister and Udupi district in charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde, Congress leaders Pramod Madhwaraj, K Pratap Chandra Shetty, Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary, former MLA Gopal Poojary among others, paid last respects to Adiga.

Adiga's body was brought to Goliyangady on Sunday morning from Shimoga. From Goliyangady Circle, hundreds of his well wishers followed the ambulance till his home where it was kept to enable people to pay tribute.

Hegde said that mafia was behind the murder of the RTI activist and urged police to expedite probe and arrest the perpetrators. District in-charge minister said that the culprits would be nabbed soon.
