Mangalore, Jan 14: Strongly supporting the long-pending demand of establishing direct aviation link between Mangalore and Saud Arabia, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP K Jayaprakash Hegde has exhorted the Union Government to speed up the process of launching direct flight from South Indian port city to oil rich kingdom.

Forwarding a feasibility study for direct flight prepared by Coastaldigest.com, to Minister for Civil Aviation Ajith Singh, the MP requested him to “direct the authorities concerned to operate direct flight between these two destinations”.

In his letter to the Union Minister, Mr Hegde said that the feasibility report of Coastaldigest.com was self-explanatory in all contents.

“Over 2 lakh people from South West Coast of India which consists of Coastal Karnataka, North Kerala and a part of Western Ghat section, are residing throughout Saudi Arabia, for whom Mangalore is the nearest airport to access,” the MP said quoting the feasibility report.
