The secret execution of Afzal Guru, convicted in the attack on Parliament in 2001, triggered joy among the saffron activists, who gathered near PVS circle in the city to 'celebrate victory'.
They burst crackers and distributed sweets. Movement of vehicles near busy PVS circle was held up for some time following the celebration.
“Guru's hanging should send a strong signal that India is against terrorism and however big or to whichever place they belong to will be dealt severely according to law of the country,” said Sharan Pumpwell of Bajarang Dal.
"We were in a festive mood after hearing of the hanging and we celebrated the event with singing, dancing and distribution of sweets." said Srikar Prabhu.
