
Mangalore, Mar 17: Minister for Housing V Somanna formally inaugurated construction work of multi-storey residential complexes by Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) at Kudupu and Kotekar, on the outskirts of the city on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Somanna said that the Kudupu Colony Plot 'A' project is being carried out on an area of 58,000 square feet with provisions for a total of 42 flats (37- 2BHK and 5- 3BHK). On Plot 'B' of Kudupu Colony, work is in progress on an area of 35,924 square feet for 27 flats (3-1BHK and 24- 2BHK flats).
Similarly, in Kotekar Colony, work is being carried out on an area of 2,25,000 square feet for 216 flats.
Other projects being carried out by the Karnataka Housing Board in the region includes District 'Ranga Mandira' project on 3.35 acres of land in Bondel, 'Ambedkar Bhavan' on 1.6 acres of land at Kottara Chowki, and construction of Jail and Rabies wards of District Wenlock Hospital.
Addressing the gathering Somanna said that the government intends to provide good homes to people of middle and lower middle class sections of the society. There would not be any compromise on the quality of work and dealings will be transparent.
The Housing Board is implementing GPS technology in uploading of details of houses to be provided to beneficiaries, the Minister said.
C T Ravi, District in-charge Minister, DK, N Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Monappa Bhandary, MLC, were also present.
