Congress finally fields Vinay Kumar Sorake from Kaup

Udupi, Apr 16: After days of speculations, AICC Secretary and former Udupi MP Vinay Kumar Sorake has finally bagged much delayed Congress ticket from Kaup Assembly Constituency.

With the Congress has completed the process of finalizing candidates for all 224 assembly seats in Karnataka.

The Kaup constituency in Udupi district had given the party much headache, as there were many aspirants for the ticket.

Apart from Mr Sorake, former minister Vasant Salian and businessman Suresh Shetty Gurme were strong contenders vying for the ticket from the same constituency. Also in the race for the ticket were Kaup Diwakar Shetty from Bunts' community, Y Sukumar from Billawas, former Udupi district Congress president M A Gafoor from minority community, Sarasu D Bangera from women's wing and Harish Kini on behalf of Youth Congress.
