
Karkala, May 6: Representing Karnataka state, Karkala rural police station sub-inspector Azmat Ali won a bronze medal for his performance at the 56th All-India Police Duty Meet held recently in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in February.
In the national-level competition on the subject 'Scientific aids in investigation' which consisted of a written, oral and practical examination, Azmat Ali bagged the third place.
Impressed by this achievement, State DG of police and IG of Police Lal Rukum Pachao and ADGP Praveen Sood felicitated Azmat Ali with a certificate and medal in Bangalore on March 4.
Originally from Bantwal taluk, Azmat Ali's father Mohammed Ali is presently the police sub-inspector of Karkala rural police station.
In honour of his achievement, Azmat Ali was felicitated in the recently-held felicitation programme in Karkala by Udupi district Superintendent of Police Boralingaiah, recently-transferred Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jayanth Shetty, present Deputy Superintendent K J Devaraj and Karkala Circle Inspector Valentine D'Souza.
