
Dr. Stan Lemeshow, Dean, College of Public Health, OSU during his last visit to Manipal initiated the dialogue between the two Universities and also conducted the First International Workshop on Epidemiology and Biostatistics in Manipal.
Officially both Universities entered into a formal agreement by signing a MoU recently. Dr. Michael Bisesi, Associate Dean, College of Public Health and Dr. H. N. Nagaraja, Professor and Chair, Division of Biostatistics, represented OSU, and Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dr. Ramachandra Kamath, Professor and Head, Department of Public Health, MU were present during the MoU signing ceremony.
Seventeen students from The Ohio State University are already here in Manipal as a part of a new Study Abroad Program.
They are here for a month of study on global health with a focus on Indian Public Health system, Health policies and National health programs including communicable and non-communicable diseases.
