
Mangalore, Jun 20: Mangalore-bound passengers from Saudi Arabia, who had been stranded at Calicut for several hours, finally reached their destination at around 1 p.m.
As many as 50 passengers had been stranded in Calicut International Airport for six hours, after their flight, which was supposed to land at Mangalore at 3:20 a.m. was diverted to Kerala due to fog and low visibility.
“All the Mangalore-bound passengers on board Dammam-Mangalore-Calicut flight IX 386 have reached their destination safely through another flight,” confirmed an official of Air India Express.
Melwin D'Silva, the Mangalore Station Manager of the airline, said all the 50 passengers who had booked Thursday morning flight ticket to Mangalore from Dammam, have been brought back to Mangalore.
A Calicut-Muscat Air India Express flight was diverted to bring Mangalore-bound passengers of IX 386, Mr D'Silva said.
