Complaining about the treatment meted out to them by company officials, the employees alleged that the management failed to understand their problems, and blamed them for taking action on the employees over minor issues.
The employees alleged that they were ill-treated by the management of United Toyota, who would transfer an employee to another section in the company over trivial issues despite validation from the staff.
“The management is known to deduct our salaries without prior notice for minor errors. There has been no increment from several months either,” said some of the employees, adding that even their requests for advance in case of emergencies went unheeded.
They said that one of the staff members had allegedly applied for an advance on his salary as he was sick and required money to pay for his medical expenses. However, having been denied any advance, he passed away soon after, they said, demanding that the managing directors of the company personally addressed them.
The employees were more irked by the treatment meted by chairman of United Toyota Prabhakar Rao, than the other officials. They said that Mr Rao did not heed their problems or grievances.
Arriving at the spot, Mr Rao acknowledged the employees' demands and spoke to them, before briefing the media persons on this regard.
Citing lack of proper communication between and the management and the employees, he said that the problems of the latter were brought to the fore only today, and promised to resolve them within the next five days.
