Speaking about the Brahmavar sugar factory which had once been a source of livelihood to many, Minister for co-operative H S Mahadeva Prasad said that he will take all possible steps to breathe life into the factory soon.
Briefing about new insurance scheme for schedule caste and schedule tribe the Minister, addressing the news persons at District Congress Committee office on Saturday said that over 9 lakh SC/STs have become members in co-operative sectors and there are plans to bring all of them under insurance schemes by spending about Rs 40 lakhs under 'Yashaswini plan'.
Further, loans of the SC/STs too will be waived off.
State has 36,000 cooperative societies with more than 2, 18, 000 membership. However, more changes will be made to the co-op sector under 97th amendment to attract more and more stake holders.
Speaking about election manifesto HS Mahadeva said “The Chief Minister is trying to fulfill the promises made during elections. Meanwhile party is concentrating on upcoming parliamentary polls.
