Kundapur, Aug 13: The accidental death of one of the members of a group, which had ventured into forest for hunting, has now been billed as a murder by the Kundapur police.

Prabhakar Acharya, a resident of Noojadi had gone hunting with his friends Sundar Poojary, Nagaraj alias Raju Poojary, Santhosh Poojary and Nagaraj Poojary on August 10. It was said that Prabhakar died on the spot after one of the friends shot a bullet accidentally.
However, deceased's brother in his complaint claimed that Prabhakar was murdered. He had directly held the four who had accompanied Prabhakar for hunting responsible for the death.
Meanwhile the four accused told the police that the bullet was shot accidentally from one of the weapons. However, the police who sensed that the entire story was fake, started investigating into the issue and found that the death was not accidental, while it was a pre-planned and a well executed plot.
The weapon used for the crime was recovered from the residence of Babu Poojary, father of accused Nagaraj Poojary
The four were produced before Kundapur Court by the Kollur police on August 12 and have been handed over to judicial custody till August 24th.
