
M Muhsin, 23, in whose car the eight-member gang of burglars travelled to the house of Salam Haji on the night of August 7 when the shocking incident occurred, was arrested on Thursday, T N Sajeevan, Circle Inspector of Police, Neeleswaram said.
A case under section 118 of the Indian Penal Code (concealing designs to commit a crime), was charged and Mr Muhsin was remanded to two weeks' judicial custody by the Hosdurg First Class Magistrate Court on Friday, Mr Sajeevan, who is heading the probe, said.
With this, three persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of the flourishing NRI businessman based in Dubai.
The gang members barged into the house around 11 p.m. and gagged Salam Haji to death in the process of robbing the house. They had hand-cuffed three other family members.
The police had arrested E K Noushad, 34, and Mohammed Rameez, 30, the two prime accused in the case.
Lookout notices for six absconding persons involved in the crime have been issued.
