Mangalore, Sep 15: New Mangalore Port Trust has had a wonderful culture of beginning the day's work by hoisting the national flag.
However, a disgraceful incident of Saturday has shown that this practice ceases to be a culture and has become a mere routine for all.
The tri-colour flag was hoisted upside down on Saturday and what is shocking is the fact that nobody noticed the sorry state of the flag till afternoon.
Though Panambur police station and Mangalore North ACP's office is right next to the NMPT building, the insult remained unnoticed.
Later on, Panambur police Inspector Cheluvaraju visited the spot and made arrangements to get the flag down and hoist it in correct form.
The fingers are now pointed at CRPF personnel for committing a mistake of this magnitude.
