
Mangalore, Oct 22: Outgoing Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada Abhishek Goyal was given a warm farewell by the DK District Police and Western Range Police, Mangalore here on Monday.
In his farewell speech, Mr Goyal said that his 2-year stint as Superintendent of Dakshina Kannada was'one of the most satisfying and enriching experience' in his career in the police force. Dakshina Kannada is a small district but an important one, which gives you a lot of exposure. The experience you get here, you may not get the same even in two or three other districts,” he said and wished the best for the new SP of Dakshina Kannada Shantanu Sinha.
“Both in tough situations and good times, IGP Pratap Reddy was a source of inspiration and guidance for us. All the credit of the good work goes to the police personnel, whether it was solving cases, law and order situations or administrative issues. This is the best team I worked with, and Dakshina Kannada is an excellent place to work,” he said, advising members of the police department to work with integrity.
He further said, “Mistakes happen every in the police department; every person is bound to make mistakes. Our efforts should be towards continuing not to penalise mistakes, but to correct them and learn from them.”
Outgoing Deputy Superintendent of Police P Harishchandra and IGP of Western Range Pratap Reddy also spoke on the occasion.
Both Abhishek Goyal and Harishchandra were felicitated in the farewell programme.
SP Shantanu Sinha was present on the occasion, among others.
