Kasaragod, Jan 9: Kerala State Election Commission (SEC) on Friday asked the district Collector, who is also the returning officer, to submit a report on a complaint by the presiding officer in the recently held local body poll accusing the Uduma MLA of threatening him if he resisted the bogus voting.
The presiding officer Prof K M Sreekumar was on duty at the GLP school in nearby Chekapara-Kizhakkebhagam on December 14 for the LB election.
In his complaint to the SEC few days ago, Prof Sreekumar had alleged that the MLA K Kunhiraman had threatened him that his legs will be chopped off if he dared to question the bogus voting during the election.
Prof Sreekumar, who himself is a leftist and the President of the Peelicode unit of the Teacher's Organisation of Kerala Agricultural University, has also alleged that there were only CPI-M agents at the polling booth.
The CPI-M block panchayat candidate K Manikandan first intervened in identifying the voter and later the MLA, the complainant alleged.
But the MLA threatened me when we prevented same voters who casted their votes returned to cast bogus votes, Prof.Sreekumar alleged in his complaint.
