Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Amin said that to achieve this objective, the party organisation will be strengthened from grass roots.

Once the installation ceremony of the office-bearers is completed next month, the Youth Congress will start its work from the grass-roots level, he said.

The Youth Congress workers will reach the doorsteps of the people and try to get first hand information of their problems. They will later try to find solutions to these problems. The objective is to keep the Youth Congress and other frontal organisations active in the district, he added.

“In fact, we want to strengthen the party at the booth level by giving training to the Youth Congress workers. We will give them training in leadership and other aspects,” he said. The Youth Congress will try to attract the youth to it by propagating the programmes and policies of the party and the government. It will give importance to secular and communal harmony while guiding the youth, he said.

The elections to various positions of the Youth Congress were held in all the five Assembly constituencies in the district peacefully. There are presently about 12,000 primary members and 2,000 active members in the Youth Congress in the district, Mr. Amin said.
