Pattanashetty takes charge as Udupi DC

Udupi, Sep 2: S S Pattanashetty took charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district here on Monday.

He took charge from the chief executive officer of zilla panchayat M Kanagavalli.

Mr Pattanashetty was serving as the Commissioner for Cane Development and Director for Sugars.

He had earlier served as the Deputy Commissioner of Davanagere and Bijapur districts.

A Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer of 1983 batch, Mr Pattanashetty was elevated to the IAS in 2009.

Mr Pattanashetty said he would prioritise maintenance of law and order in the district. He would ensure that laws about environment and Coastal Regulation Zone are strictly followed.
