Mangaluru, Nov 8: Radhika Kumaraswamy, the second wife of JD(S) leader and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, wants her daughter to become an actress and join the film industry much like her.
At a very young age, Shamika has displayed much talent and interest in professional dancing. Hence, she is being prepared to be launched in the field of acting along with her studies. Shamika is being trained in dance, horde-riding and karate, along with acting lessons. As soon as her training is completed, she will be launched in the industry where she will be set to face the camera.
Earlier, while the grapevine was abuzz with speculation on Shamika's launch in the industry, Radhika confirmed the news. “I was planning to launch her with a role in one of the films I acted in. However, it didn't work out. Hence, we will be launching her as a lead in her own movie which is in the production stage. She will enter the film industry with a role in a children's movie, which will be formally announced later,” she said.
On asked whether she would stop acting in Kannada films, she said that she was working on two projects at the moment and would continue to perform in films depending on the roles she was offered.
On her birthday this year, which falls on November 10, fans of Radhika have much to cheer about as the muhurtha' of her latest upcoming project will be held on that day, along with the launch of her daughter in the film industry.
