Mangaluru, May 18: Adding another feather to Dakshina Kannada’s educational prowess, Mangaluru-based Rashmitha has secured first place in the entire Karnataka in II PU Commerce stream this year.

Students of Sharada Vidyalaya, Mangaluru, who scored highest marks in II PUC: Rashmitha (Commerce- 593), Arya M (Science- 590) and Sworabh (Commerce- 589).
A student of Sharada Pre University College, Mangaluru, Rashmitha has secured 593 out of 600 (98.83%). She is the daughter of B Purushotham and Shashikala from Bejai Kapikad here.
Excluding in languages, she has bagged 100 out of 100 marks in all four subjects, i.e., Business Studies, Accountancy, Statistics and Basic Maths. In Sanskrit and English she secured 99 and 94 marks respectively.
Speaking to Coastaldigest.com, she said that the support from her parents and teachers helped her to become a topper. “My parents and teachers always supported and guided me,” she said adding that she studied along with her friends and visited libraries during revision holidays.
Rashmitha, who is now preparing for CPT exams, said that her ambition was to become a good chartered accountant.
Arya M, another student of same college, has scored 590 marks and emerged one among the toppers in science stream in the state.
The PCMB student has scored full marks in Mathematics and Physics and 99 marks in Biology and Chemistry
Daughter of Mani Nayak and Srimathi Nayak, Arya’s dream is to become a paediatrician, to take care of her parents and help the poor.
Saurabh Surendra Kumar (589 in commerce), Manvitha (588 in science) and Harsha Shetty (585 in commerce) are some other achievers in Sharada Pre University College.
